Here are some companies that I thought are just “hanging over” in the tech industry:
AMD – Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
As I said earlier, AMD had lost ground and can no longer remain competitive with Intel. AMD has ambitious goals, but it doesn’t have deep pockets like Intel for research and development. Last week, it had [...]

AMD – Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
It seems that AMD had lost ground and can no longer remain competitive with Intel. In the beginning of 2008, AMD was trying to turn around, but failed. Also, AMD just announced that it will cut its total workforce by 10% and its revenue will also decline by 15% from last quarter. They are getting [...]
Analysts expect big profit drop at AMD

Yesterday, AMD’s stock price jumped to near $7 without a reason. Maybe investors are hoping for a surprise at AMD. However, I don’t think there will be any miracle. People assume that if Intel does bad, AMD will do well. This is usually not the case. It will probably drop more after the earnings because [...]
Sold 2000 AMD shares @ 6.75 USD for a small profit. It went up 10% while Intel goes down 11%. What a coincidence!

The whole market is down at the moment. It is not just individual stocks, it is the whole market. As mentioned last week, Goldman Sachs sees US recession in 2008. The root cause of this is the Subprime Crisis in summer 2007, which leads to the housing downturn. This had indirectly affected most of the [...]
AMD Looks Cheap

Bought 2000 AMD shares @ 6.31 USD for the earnings on Jan. 17. I believe that AMD will always be a competitor of Intel. Plus, Intel is under investigation now so it may boost AMD share price short-term. I don’t know if it is better to buy now or after earnings, but AMD share price looks very [...]
Crox and AMD

I am eyeing on CROX and AMD, waiting for an entry point. Although CROX is slowing in growth, it is still growing. I can see a lot of people wear Crocs because it is very unique. Some people see Crocs as fads, but I think they are here to stay.
